Setting Priorities

By peace | July 18, 2007

Balanced women never get anything done, focused women do!
~ Anne Graham Lotz

Priorities create the time to reach for the stars while you are reaching into hearts. Knowing what to do, and when to do it, is the key to success. Priorities reveal your true self. They are like a reminder string around your heart, gently pushing you toward the important tasks and people of your life. In the end, it will be your priorities that make up your eulogy, and your priorities will be engraved on the hearts of those precious people crying at the graveside. Priorities carve your place in this world one heart at a time. Most importantly, priorities keep your heart focused everyday, every moment you are alive. Priorities are the stepping stones to your dreams.

Women today have so many overlapping tasks and roles, so many things that all seem to need doing at the same time, that it seems impossible to find time for ourselves, and often equally impossible to do anything as well as we would like to. In the effort to balacne our own needs with the needs of employers, partners, friends, children and other fmaily members, we often squeeze ourselves right out of the picture.

Time management techniques are more often used in the workplace than in the home. However, the principles are the same. If you have too many things to do, and no baseline from which to allocate your time, you are likely to panic, try to do everything at once, and achieve nothing. Time management will allow you to set goals, establish priorities and make sure that, even on the days when you are forced to skimp, you do what you can do as well as you can.

[…] The heart of all individual is the prime of all the doings on this earth. A good heart produce a person with good character. The heart is committed to his work and is capable of producing excellent work, is a heart that has love for what he or she does. Where there is love, there is hope and there is time for it. A person who does not make full use of his heart is a person who has no love for his surroundings. He that has no love for anything will not have time and will not be committed to anything. A person who has no love, will have no perseverance, no determination and no desire to achieve anything. He is a person without any goals. […]
