See With Your Heart

Heal The World
This is a song by Michael Jackson and it is so meaningful. Every word from the song lyrics are so true. We really need to heal our world.
We have eyes but that does not mean you can see. Some people have eyes but they are blind. Some are born blind, some born partial blind and some people are fortunate enough to have see the world, but later on unable to see the world again due to accidents or other disabilities to the eyes. What about the blind, for those who are born without even having the opportunities to even know what is light, what is colours and how people really look like? We should learn to see this world not just with our eyes, but with our heart and our soul. Just like the blind, they use their heart to see this world because they cannot see with their eyes. For being able to write all this, I have the power to see. I am very fortunate that I have my five senses working and functioning well. I am very fortunate that I am able to walk around myself, I can be independent, with my both hands able to do many work everyday.
See this world with your heart, not just with your eyes. Look around you. You see many things. But do you really see?
Every day, people are fighting against one another indirectly. In class, students aim for top position in class. In school, teachers want to be promoted to be HOD, Vice-principal and principal. In the working place, colleagues fighting with each other, so that they can get good appraisals from their employers. The national leaders are no any different. Among nations, each of them want to be the best. Everyday, trees are cut down and more animals slaughtered and killed so as to satisfy human desire and greed. More roads, more buildings and more flats are built. Urbanisation has caused the world to become hotter, some parts of the world are either too cold or too hot.
Trees chopped down to make more furniture and more disposable chopsticks. More trees chopped down so as to create more space to build houses for men, to build recreational or entertainment centre for mankind. To amuse mankind, to make more money, animals are captured. Animals are trained to perform tricks. Animals are kept as pets. When people get tired of keeping dogs, cats and hamsters, they think of keeping the wild animals like monkeys and squirrels as pets. Now, even more people are keeping more varieties of pets. Some people keep lizards, pigs, snakes and even baby lion or tiger in some countries.
To satisfy human desire for their appetite and curiosity, many animals are killed everyday. Animals are eaten for their flesh, organs, bones and skins. They are also useful for their skins, eggs and bones. Animals also help the mankind to do a lot of work. But we see that animals are not treated with respect and kindness. We see cats caged up and dump in the rubbish bin or left along corridor for days — More than ten cats, housed in a small cage, left uncared and starve for days along corridor. Cats were killed by bullies. Rats and dogs were knocked down or killed in accidents.
Although advertisements warned people about the danger and risks of smoking, people are still buying cigarettes and they are still smoking. Not only are there air pollution problem in this world, there are sea pollution as well. The world population is increasing and more resources need to be sought. Advance scientific research and technology help to produce more food at a faster rate and cloning is even possible now.
If you think that what other people do does not affect each other, then you are wrong. This world is round. Energy is neither neither created nor destroyed. Energy from one place transferred to another. According to universal laws, everything will come back to you for what you have sowed. Unity is power. If everybody can slow down their pace of life, use your heart to feel this world, stay calm and use your heart to see this world for a moment, perhaps you can see what you do not see always. There is no need to have the whole world to be happy.
To climb up the stairs is difficult. To go down from the stairs is easy. When rules are passed down from authorities and laws are implemented, they are followed and obeyed. It takes great leaders to make this world a better place. It also need the co-operation of humankind to make things happen. Together, we can help to make this world a better place, a peaceful place perhaps.
