My Tuition Kids
By peace | April 18, 2010
These were my tuition kids many years back, during the 90s.
Melissa was a bright pupil. She did not need much coaching. What she need was ‘enrichment classes’. It is very easy to teach her, a really smart girl who studied in St Anthony Primary School. Marcus, the one standing on the right, beside Melissa, studied in QiHua Primary School. He is good at English, but weak in Maths and Chinese. I had other students, but I did not take their photographs… Somehow, these two students of mine seem to be so ‘naturally close’ or it seems that there is some kind of ‘special chemistry’ working between us. Both of them had tuition with me until Primary Six. Marcus continued Maths and Science tuition with me even after his secondary school (Woodlands Ring Secondary School). They are really so adorable, so much so that I would go shopping to specially buy gifts for them when they had scored well for their examinations.
These are photographs of my family members, consisting of my nieces and nephews.
These are my next bunch of ‘tuition kids’. I gave them homework guidance whenever they need help. Among them, only Stephanie and Herrick are officially my tuition kids as they are staying in Woodlands.
After childbirths, and moving house, I stopped giving tuition. However, I taught Valerie Maths Tuition again in the year 2008. That was the last time I taught tuition. I was so busy then and I really need to stop the tuition at the end of the year. After that, the parents enrolled her in some Maths tuition centers. Until now, she is still having tuition. She will be taking her GCE ‘O’ Level this year.
Many students are very weak in Maths, especially Algebra. Valerie was rather weak in Algebra too. So did Marcus. Do you know that nowadays, you do not need to travel to tuition centres?
